Independent private equity firm focused on investments in Brazil.

Principia Capital Partners was founded with the objective of unlocking the potential of companies in Brazil, driving them to become world class enterprises and generating superior return to investors as a result. Principia achieves its goals through strong operational involvement, deep sector knowledge and transparent relationship with its partners and investors.

Principia Capital Partners was formed by one of the most experienced private equity teams in Brazil. The investment team and senior advisors have worked together across various market cycles, with significant business experience across a wide range of industries.

We believe that a significant part of our investment performance can be attributed to our commitment to provide hands-on, value-added operating support, working closely with management teams to successfully implement business plans across different sectors.

Principia Capital Partners typically targets investments in Brazilian middle market companies to deploy between $30 and $100 million of equity per transaction, with a conservative approach to leverage.

Responsible Investment

As part of an ongoing effort to advance sustainable investing, Principia Capital Partners signed the United Nations-supported Principles for Responsible Investment (PRI), an international network of asset managers, owners and service providers working together to put responsible investment into practice.

PRI is the world’s largest investor network on sustainable investing. Established in 2005 by the then UN Secretary General Kofi Annan, the PRI is now a privately funded organization with over 2,250 signatories to its six principles, representing $83 trillion in assets under management.

In December 2017, Principia Capital Partners signed an agreement with Victoria Capital Partners, an independent investment firm focused on private equity investments in South America.

Under this agreement, Principia Capital Partners was appointed the local manager of certain FIPs (Fundo de Investimento em Participações) to provide services to Victoria Capital Partners in respect of the funds that hold the following Brazil portfolio companies of Victoria Capital Partners: Grupo Technos, Ideal Invest, Grupo Oncoclínicas, FLC, Elemidia and Cellera Farma.
